In an era where digital photography and post-production after fx is the norm, and when looking at a picture means feeling some sceptisism (is it photoshop or is it real?), it is refreshing to find photographers that still use their 35mm camera to take pictures, and care little about air-brushing or cleaning, in order to make those pictures ready for digital standards.
I personally enjoy noticing scratches and imperfections in the scans of those pictures, noticing what makes an image interesting rather than perfect, personal and real, like old movies and old records.
Heidi Johansen's
images belong to this world of real pictures and real people.
